U.S. ESTA application guides
The Czech Republic is a U.S. Visa Waiver Program country. A qualifying Czech traveller can use ESTA for eligible Visa Waiver Program travel when all passport, trip-purpose and individual eligibility requirements are met.
Visa Waiver Program travel requires a qualifying e-passport and generally covers eligible business or tourism trips of 90 days or less.
The official U.S. ESTA website currently lists the application fee as US$40.27 and lists a traveller selfie photo among the information required for a new application.
ESTA approval does not guarantee admission to the United States. U.S. authorities determine admission at the port of entry.

ESTA for Czech citizens: VWP, e-passport and visa distinction
Czech citizens should distinguish ESTA from a U.S. visa and confirm that the traveller, qualifying e-passport and trip all meet Visa Waiver Program requirements.
- The Czech Republic participates in the Visa Waiver Program, but each traveller still needs individual ESTA eligibility.
- Visa Waiver Program travel requires a qualifying Czech e-passport.
- An approved ESTA authorizes eligible VWP travel but does not guarantee admission to the United States.
