U.S. ESTA application guides

Latvia is a current U.S. Visa Waiver Program country. A qualifying latvian citizen may use ESTA for eligible VWP travel when all passport, trip-purpose and individual eligibility requirements are met.

Visa Waiver Program travel requires a qualifying e-passport and generally covers eligible tourism or business trips of 90 days or less. ESTA is also required for eligible VWP travellers who intend to enter the United States by land.

The official U.S. ESTA fee for a new application is currently US$40.27. Each traveller, including children, needs an individual authorization when travelling under the Visa Waiver Program.

Unless a country-specific exception applies, an ESTA authorization is generally valid for two years from approval or until the linked passport expires, whichever comes first.

ESTA approval does not guarantee admission to the United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection makes the admissibility decision at the port of entry.
