U.S. ESTA in 2026: $40.27 fee, selfie photo and application checklist
The official U.S. ESTA application website currently lists the ESTA application fee as US$40.27. Travellers should recheck the amount on the official website when applying because government fees can change.
The official ESTA website also currently lists a traveller selfie photo among the information needed to apply. Other listed items include a valid passport from a Visa Waiver Program country, a valid email address, home address and phone number, an emergency point of contact and a payment method.
Depending on the traveller, the official application may also request aliases, national or personal identification numbers, trusted-traveller identifiers, employer details and a U.S. point of contact.
ESTA is for eligible citizens or nationals of Visa Waiver Program countries travelling under the program, generally for business or pleasure for 90 days or less. Authorization to travel does not guarantee admission to the United States.
EstaEta is a private, non-government travel-authorisation assistance service. Government authorities control eligibility, authorization, admission and official government fees. Where private application assistance is used, EstaEta charges a separate service fee.
