Canada eTA & U.S. ESTA Updates 2026
This official-source change log tracks material Canada eTA and U.S. ESTA rule, eligibility and fee changes that affect current travel information. Current requirements without a reliable change date are labelled as current rather than assigned an invented date.
26 May 2026 — Canada expanded conditional eTA access to eligible Indonesian and Malaysian citizens
Canada added Indonesia and Malaysia to the select visa-required-country eTA program. This is conditional, not a general visa exemption. Eligible travellers must meet all additional government requirements and use the qualifying eTA for air travel or airport transit. Travellers who do not meet the conditions, or who arrive by car, bus, train or boat, generally still need a visitor visa.
