Check that the passport type is eligible for the eTA process
Review the rules after renewal, replacement or loss of a passport
Travel with the passport linked to the approved eTA

Travel method, purpose and individual circumstances can matter
The official Government of Canada eTA fee is currently CAN$7
Government requirements can change, so verify the current rule on Canada.ca
