Do not start a paid eTA application merely because your country appears in this program. The conditional route is narrower than the normal rule for visa-exempt travellers.
You held a Canadian visitor visa in the past 10 years, or you currently hold a valid U.S. nonimmigrant visa on the day you apply.
You are travelling to Canada for a short temporary stay, normally up to 6 months.
You are flying to or transiting through a Canadian airport using a valid St. Lucia passport that qualifies for Canada's select visa-required-country eTA program.

Conditional Canada eTA FAQ for Saint Lucian travellers
Can Saint Lucian citizens use a Canada eTA?
Some Saint Lucian citizens can use the eTA route, but only if they meet all of Canada's additional conditions for select visa-required countries. If those conditions are not met, a visitor visa is generally required instead.
What are the extra eTA conditions for Saint Lucian citizens?
Canada requires all three conditions: qualifying Canadian-visa or U.S.-visa history/status, a short temporary stay, and travel to Canada by air using a qualifying passport from an eligible country.
Can an eligible Saint Lucian traveller use an eTA to enter Canada by land or sea?
No. Canada states that travellers using this select visa-required-country eTA program still need a visitor visa when arriving by car, bus, train, boat or cruise ship.
How much is the official Canada eTA fee?
If the traveller qualifies to apply for an eTA, the Government of Canada currently charges CAN$7. EstaEta's optional private service fee is separate.
Does an approved eTA guarantee entry to Canada?
No. Canadian authorities make the authorization and admission decisions. EstaEta cannot guarantee approval or entry.
